We invite you to an exhibition as part of the 8th Baroque Gardens of Art Festival!

‘Fruits of the Baroque – Table Baroque’ is an exhibition of drawings by Barbara Strzymińska-Zdanewicz. The exhibition consists of ten large-format paintings, which are a contemporary interpretation of Baroque still life. They were inspired by the works of masters such as Caravaggio and Jan Van Huysum.
The most common motif is grapes, depicted in accordance with Baroque rules: sharp chiaroscuro, expressiveness and richness of form. In the creative process, it was crucial to maintain the harmony and clarity of the image, despite the conscious decision to abandon the full colour palette typical of the Baroque. The artist sensitively introduced subtle contemporary elements into her works, which enrich the traditional form. Particular emphasis was placed on showing depth (the third dimension) through the precise use of chiaroscuro.

Long live fashion! Long live life!
These extraordinary drawings are accompanied by an exhibition of paper wigs. The exhibition consists of works made of paper by artist Asya Kozina. They were previously presented at the VIVE LA MODE! VIVE LA VIE! show on the second day of the festival. The baroque, handmade wigs are presented on mannequins in the same form in which they were presented on the catwalk.
The exhibitions were organised as part of the 8th edition of the Baroque Gardens of Art festival.
Free entrance!
Barbara Strzymińska-Zdanewicz’s exhibition was created as part of a scholarship from the Mayor of Białystok for the implementation of the project entitled ‘Fruits of the Baroque’ as part of the ‘Baroque Gardens of Art’.
