On 2 June at 6.00 pm, the grand opening of a new exhibition as part of the ‘Galerii pod Sową’ series will take place. Works by the Mistral Art Group, based at the ‘Śródmieście’ Community Centre in Białystok, will be on display at Cukiernia Sowa in Galeria Alfa in Białystok.
Free entrance!
The exhibition, entitled “Transition”, is an artistic attempt to capture the fleeting moments between light and shadow, memory and the present, and, ultimately, the journey and the destination. The broad and open-ended nature of the theme allowed each participant in the group to discover her own unique story, emotions and images close to her heart.
The starting point for many of the works created were the artists’ private photographs and personal experiences. Although the creative process was marked by moments of complete freedom as well as challenges associated with interpreting such a broad concept as “transition”, it ultimately opened up space for highly individual artistic expressions. The exhibition will feature works created using oil and acrylic techniques.
– This group is not just a place to learn painting, but also a space for meeting up, chatting and spending time together. Here, creativity becomes a way of building relationships, discovering one’s own sensitivity and finding the courage to take on new challenges – says instructor Olga Wyszkowska.
