The 10th anniversary of the Early Music Ensemble “Ars Decorum”

You are invited to the anniversary concert of the Early Music Ensemble “Ars Decorum”.

The concert will take place on April 5 at 17:00 at the Janusz Korczak Auditorium of the Faculty of Education Sciences of UwB (20 Swierkowa Street).

Seating is limited, and free tickets are required for the concert – to be picked up at the secretary’s office of DK “Śródmieście” starting 24 March!

The program will hear works by Juan del Encina, John Dowland, John Bennet, John Playford, Cyprian Basil, as well as contemporary artists inspired by early music, among others. Invited guests will also appear on stage!

The Early Music Ensemble “Ars Decorum” was founded in April 2015 on the initiative of the instructor, Joanna Mytnik-Daniluk. It is a youth vocal and instrumental ensemble specializing in performing works from the Renaissance and early Baroque periods. The ensemble’s instrumentation includes, among others, simple flutes, cornamuse, guitar-guitar, Irish and lyric harp and percussion. The musicians perform in stylized costumes based on old clothing.

Since its founding, the band has been touring all over Poland. In August 2017, the ensemble performed during the Jarosławski Fair. Since 2017, the Ensemble has participated in the cyclical “Baroque Gardens of Art” Festival in Bialystok. Among the most important achievements of the Ensemble are:

  • 💎 Diamond Debut (first place) in the category of bands at the Children and Youth Music Festival “Debuts” in Łapy (2016),
  • 🏅 Bronze Eola Harps in the category of vocal and instrumental ensembles at the International Festival of Early Music Ensembles “Schola Cantorum” (2017, 2021, 2024),
  • 🏅 Silver Eola Harp in the category of instrumental ensembles at the International Festival of Early Music Ensembles “Schola Cantorum” (2024),
  • 🏆 Golden Eol Harp and Award of the Starost of Kalisz at the International Festival of Early Music Ensembles “Schola Cantorum” (2022).

Joanna Mytnik-Daniluk – cultural expert, educator and art therapist. Doctor of humanities in the discipline of cultural and religious sciences. Since 2005 Artist of the Academic Choir of the University of Bialystok. Since 2012 Instructor of early music ensembles, instructor of piano and simple flutes at the “Srodmiescie” Community Center in Bialystok. Since 2017 Lecturer at the University of Bialystok, currently at the Department of Cultural Studies.
