The Ballet Center carries out tasks in the field of dance education for children and youth.

The Ballet Center of the “Śródmieście” Community Center was established in 1992 and carries out tasks in the field of dance education for children and youth. Kids, starting with rhythm and dance technique, will learn the elements of classical and characteristic dance, theatricality and vocals. About 80 children aged 5-15 attend the Ballet Center every year. Oksana Prus has been the instructor, choreographer and artistic director since 2016, Justyna Wieruszewska-Biniek has been the vocal instructor since 2019.

Participants of the Ballet Center in the last 6 years participated in 50 concerts, shows, tournaments, workshops and dance parties, where they won the following awards:

  • 19th National Contemporary Dance Tournament named after Renata Dudaryk-Randzio 2017 in Grajewo – 2nd place;
  • Open Classical Dance Workshops 2017 (show class in classical dance at the Śródmieście Ballet Center in Białystok) in Grodno Belarus – Open Methodical Day of Choreography (State Junior High School No. 7 in Grodno);
  • 7th National Open Sports Dance Tournament in Białystok 2017 – 2 Gold Cups for 1st place and Silver Cup for 2nd place in the Classical Dance category;
  • II National Festival of Artistic Groups Awangarda in Sierakowice 2019 – Silver Cup for 2nd place and Bronze Cup for 3rd place in the Classical Dance category and Silver Cup for 2nd place in the Various Dance Forms category;
  • Solo concert of the Ballet Center in Grodno Belarus 2018 during the Festival of Joy;
  • Diploma for participation in the educational and artistic workshops “Colours of the World” – Grodno, Belarus 2019;
  • Diplomas of the National Children’s Dance Festival “Happy Feet” 2018 and 2019 in Białystok;
    National Modern Dance Tournament “VI Mazovia Freestyle Cup” 2019 in Warsaw Silver Cup for 2nd place and Bronze Cup for 3rd place in the categories: Ballet Open and Ballet/Jazz Open;
    International Festival-Competition “Talents of Europe” in Lloret de Mar Spain 2021 – 2nd place in the Choreography category in the 10-12 age group;
  • International Online Festival-Competition “Future stars” in Riccione Italy 2021 – in the category of contemporary dance: 1st place in the age group up to 6 years old, 2nd place in the age group of 7-8 years old;
  • International Festival-Competition “Portugal Art Carnaval” in Lisbon Portugal 2021 – in the category of Classical Dance: 1st place in the age group of 5-6 and Grand Prix in the mixed age group, in the category of Neo-Classical Dance: 1st place in the age group of 9-10 years old, 2nd place in the 7-8 age group;
  • International Festival-Competition “American Edition by Fiestalonia Milenio” in New York, USA 2021 – in the Choreography category: 2nd place in the age group up to 9 years old; 2nd place in the 13-15 age group, 2nd place in the mixed age group;
  • International Youth Art Festival “Marine Fantazy” in Kitena Bulgaria 2021 – 1st place in the Choreography category (Classical Dance);
  • International Festival-Competition “Sopravista Olympic Art Games” in Riccione Italy 2021 – Modern dance category: 1st place in the mixed age group, 1st place in the 7-8 age group, 2nd place in the 9-10 age group, in the Classic category ballet – 1st place in the mixed age group.
  • International Multi-Genre Festival-Online Competition “I stand with Ukraine! NO WAR!” in Kiev, Ukraine 2022 – 1st place in the Choreography Mixed Age category.
  • XX International Festival-Competition of Folklore, Dance and Music named after Alexander of Macedonia in Ohrid, North Macedonia 2022 – 1st place, Gold Medal and Gold Certificate in the Ballet category.
  • International Festival-Competition “World Art Games” in Lloret de Mar Spain 2022 – 2nd place in the Choreography category in the age group up to 10 years old; 2nd place in the Choreography category in the 10-12 age group; 2nd place in the Choreography category in the mixed age group;

 

The Ballet Center participates in charity events and city events in Białystok, including: the Municipal Stadium, the Jan Kilińskiego Street Festival, the Forum Cinema, the Fama Café, Primary School No. 4 (artistic gymnastics tournaments), Traditional International Dance Days at the Dramatic Theater A. Węgierki et al. In August 2021, the students of the Ballet Center took part in the TV program “Dzień Dobry TVN”, in December 2021 they performed a solo Santa Claus Ballet Performance at the Community Center in Łapy. On April 29, 2022, a jubilee concert was held to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Ballet Group ot the “Śródmieście” Community Center in Białystok.
