Community Center “Śródmieście” in Białystok invites you to the opening of the painting exhibition “Landscapes of emotions” by Marta Karczewska, which will take place on March 7, 2023.
Marta Karczewska was born in 1982. in Bialystok. She is a graduate of postgraduate studies in painting and art history. She had her debut exhibition in October 2022 at the Municipal Public Library in Wasilków. She participated in the group international online exhibition International Abstract Art in November 2022 and the International Art Exhibition in February 2023.
The creative process is a form of meditation
– For me, painting is a creative expression of myself and has accompanied me since I was a child. I paint under the influence of feelings and emotions – I reach deep into my soul, often touching what is difficult and painful. What I feel, I express through color, texture and expressive brushstrokes. That is why the creative process itself is often more important than the final effect. I would compare it to meditation, although it can also be a real catharsis, because it helps me understand myself and soothe my emotions, says the author of the works.
Unconventionality, multi-layeredness, freedom
At the exhibition at the Center of Culture “Śródmieście” in Białystok, you will be able to see over 20 paintings made in mixed technique. The exhibition is characterized by diversity, multiplicity of colors and unusual textures. – Broadly understood freedom in life and art is, in my opinion, extremely important. The feeling of freedom and the most freedom gives me mixed technique, in which I create most often. I am fascinated by the multilayeredness and texture of paintings, which is why I often use unconventional painting tools in my works.
A unique painting exhibition
At the exhibition you will be able to see not only paintings – the author of the works has added artistic notebooks, which are part of her work. – I also give a new life to notebooks and old books – I paint in them, create collages. This is how artistic diaries are created, which are an inseparable part of me and my artistic journey. Each of my works is a part of me, my soul, and since I sincerely believe that we are all connected to each other in some way, I hope that everyone will also find a part of themselves in them – sums up Marta Karczewska.
Exhibition opening
The opening of the painting exhibition “Landscapes of emotions” by Marta Karczewska will take place on March 7 (Tuesday) at 18:00 at the “Śródmieście” Community Center in Białystok (ul. Jana Kilińskiego 13, second floor). The exhibition can be viewed from Monday to Friday from 10:00-18:00, admission is free.
The exhibition will be open until April 7, 2023.
