The director of the “Śródmieście” Community Center in Bialystok and the author invite you to an exhibition of paintings “Following the Color”.
Ewa Karczewska is from Białystok. Over the years, she has worked as a book editor and proofreader. She began her art adventure as a photographer. Several years following the path of her fascination with art, she captured the surrounding reality through photography. Finally, there came a turning point in her life, when she put down her camera and grabbed a paintbrush.
– It was an unexpected transformation from photography to painting. While photographing for several years, I gained experience and confidence. I think it was courage that allowed me to stand at the easel and depict frames from my own imagination on canvas – the author says.
The series presented at the exhibition are paintings in acrylic technique. They reflect the author’s inner reflections and ideas about human life. The works are full of color and mysterious light. So they can be a source of positive feelings or put you in a melancholy, peaceful state. The color treatments used by the author are not insignificant. They help the viewer guess the themes that appear in the paintings and assign meanings to individual elements. The author herself does not focus only on the end result of the creative process. What turns out to be more important are the emotions and feelings that accompany her while painting and honing her own talent.
– Painting time is the time I give myself. It brings satisfaction, makes happy, puts in a state of bliss. I am invariably fascinated by how colors affect emotions, what associations and interpretations they evoke. For me, the most important thing in painting is the act of creation itself, because it is in it that I find sensitivity, emotionality and aesthetics – says Ewa Karczewska.
The opening of the painting exhibition “Following the Color” by Ewa Karczewska will take place on October 24 (Tuesday) at 6 pm at the “Śródmieście” Community Center in Białystok (13 Jan Kiliński street, second floor).
The exhibition can be viewed from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm, free admission.
The exposition will be open until November 24, 2023.
