The director of the ‘Śródmieście’ Community Center in Bialystok and the author Kamila Jankowska invite you to the opening of the painting exhibition ‘Imaginations’.
The exhibition is made up of works made on canvases using acrylic paints, as well as oil pastels, which resulted in expressive colours and interesting visual effects. The paintings were originally created in the nooks and crannies of the author’s imagination, with the surrounding reality providing inspiration.
Kamila Jankowska is a graduate of the Bialystok University of Technology, Faculty of Interior Design. She works in computer graphics and photography on a daily basis. She has been passionate about painting since childhood and draws inspiration for her creations from nature – its beauty, colours and forms. She uses colours such as navy blue, brown, khaki, black and turquoise very often in her work.
– ‘I have long been passionate about creating works in the style of modern abstraction, which are used in interior decoration. The elements that foster my creativity are often the textures of metal, rust and wood. The creative process of each piece allows me to completely detach myself from reality and gives me great pleasure and satisfaction. When working on a piece, I often think about the end result and what its further history will be.’ – says the author.
Drawing and painting have accompanied Kamila Jankowska since childhood. Ever since she can remember, she has spent every free moment drawing. At one time she also created commissioned portraits, but her interest in interior design led her to paint abstractions.
– ‘I often use abstract forms, which allows me to create independent and free structures and compositions. For me, painting is a form of meditation and a way of expressing my own sensitivity, which I would like to share with others’ – Kamila Jankowska concludes.
The opening of the painting exhibition ‘Imaginations’ by Kamila Jankowska will take place on January 16 (Tuesday) at 18:00 at the “Śródmieście” Community Center in Białystok (13 Jan Kiliński street, second floor). The exhibition can be viewed from Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm, free admission.
The exhibition will be open until 15 February 2024.
